This group which was founded in 1988 deals with a number of businesses related to infrastructure building, ports and logistics, power and transmission, solar power generation, coal management and agricultural business. He has made major investment in his home state of Gujrat which has the exclusive privilege of hosting the only privately held port in India which is owned by the Adani Group.

2. Uday Kotak($10.6 Billion):

Uday Kotak is a billionaire businessman from India. He first started a financial firm in 1985 and then converted it into a bank in 2003 which is called the Kotak Mahindra Bank. This bank now ranks among the top four banks of India in the private sector. The Kotak Mahindra Finance Ltd is the first company in Indian corporate history to receive a banking license from the Reserve Bank of India. The worldwide popular financial magazine Forbes estimated his wealth amounting to $10.6 billion in 2018.

3. Radhakishan Damani($10.7 Billion):

Radhakishan Damani is a Stockbroker and Investor. He is also the founder of Dmart, a retail chain which operates 91 stores across India. As an investor also he was extremely successful and is regarded as one of India’s finest value investor just like Rakesh Jhunjhunwala. In spite of the enormous success he prefers to maintain an extremely low profile in media and public life. He likes his work do the talking for him and this gesture indeed speaks volumes.

4. Sunil Mittal($10.7 Billion):

Sunil Bharti Mittal is a billionaire Indian businessman who owns the Bharti Enterprise which operates in a number of industries which includes telecom, insurance, real estate, malls, hospitality, agriculture and food. His flagship company Bharti Airtel is regarded as India’s largest telecom company which has a customer base of over 390 million. He was awarded the Padma Bhusan India’s largest civilian honor for his great contribution to the India’s telecom sector.

Kumar Mangalam Birla is a renowned Indian industrialist who owns the Aditya Birla Group which operates a number of businesses which includes metal, automobile, cement, telecom, chemicals , textile, fashion, financial services, insulators, trading solutions, agri-business, mining, renewable energy and retail. Apart from owning this huge business he also acts as the chancellor of Birla Institute of Technology and Science and the chairman of Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.

Dilip Shanghvi is a billionaire businessman of India. He is the founder of Sun Pharmaceuticals which was created with the objective of manufacturing psychiatric drugs. But later he expanded his business through a number of acquisitions the biggest of which came in 2014 when he acquired Ranbaxy Laboratories for $4 Billion. The company revenue has increased several folds over the years.

7. Shiv Nadar($13.9 Billion) :

Shiv Nadar is one of India’s leading IT entrepreneur who founded HCL Technologies in 1976. The company has grown several folds over the years and now has become India’s fourth largest software service provider. His company has provided employment to nearly 120000 people worldwide. Apart from being a leading businessman he is also a big philanthropist and has donated $662 million to his Nadar Foundation which works for education related causes.

8. Lakshmi Mittal($19.3 Billion):

Lakshmi Mittal is the chairman and CEO of world’s largest steel company ArcelorMittal. Initially he owned a steel business called Mittal Steel. Later he expanded his business and acquired one of the largest steel companies in the world i.e Arcelor. After the acquisition it became the largest steel company of the world namely ArcelorMittal. Later it acquired several other companies one after the other as its net profit surged over the years. Azim Hasan Premzi is the owner of one of the leading IT Company of India i.e Wipro Ltd. As a chairman of this company he successfully guided it for nearly four decades so that finally it emerged as one of the global leaders in the software industry. Wipro has emerged as India’s third largest software outsourcing company. The company has undertaken several merger and acquisition over the year which has resulted in overall expansion and growth of this company.

Mukesh Dhirubhai Ambani is the son of Dhirubhai Ambani and the owner of Reliance Industries Ltd which is India’s most valuable company by market value. The company deals with refining, petrochemical, oil and natural gas sectors. One of its subsidiaries Reliance Retail Ltd is one of the largest retailers of India. It’s another subsidiary namely Reliance Communication Ltd is one of the largest telecom operators of India. Mukesh Ambani is the only person who figures in the Forbes list of most influential person of the world.
